Minutes and financial statements of a coalition formed to increase the participation of women at all decision-making levels of Minnesota government by identifying and developing progressive women candidates for state and local offices, providing campaign training, and coordinating resources through a statewide bipartisan network. Included within the minutes are lists of women candidates, election results, reports of director Shirley Nelson's activities,and brief summaries of discussion regarding women's political issues and campaign strategies. The Coalition started in 1985 as a committee of the Minnesota Women's Consortium and became an independent entity comprised of ten member organizations in April 1986. The member organizations are Minnesota Women's Political Caucus; Abortion Rights Council; American Association of University Women, Minnesota; Business and Professional Women; DFL Feminist Caucus; GOP Feminist Caucus; League of Women Voters of Minnesota; Minnesota Women's Campaign Fund; Minnesota Women Elected Officials; and National Organization for Women, Minnesota.
